Style of Instruction
Chris has a very relaxed, understanding and friendly style of instruction devoid of any sarcasm, his manner and delivery will help to create the best relaxed and calm teaching environment so that effective learning takes place. Chris likes to create a ‘mobile classroom’ and have short stops, invite questions and give feedback and encouragement. He has vast experience as a driver trainer and driving examiner allowing him to quickly assess and recognise your strengths and the areas which may require some development.
“In 2010 I was involved in a car accident in which my car was a write off and I received serious injuries. I have since suffered a loss of confidence and many anxious moments when I’m driving. After speaking with Chris on the phone I decided to book a day with him and my husband came too for moral support. I needn’t have worried because Chris was a charming, kind, understanding gentleman and a superb instructor, who guided me through my problems. His explanations were clear and easy to understand and I learnt so much more about driving. My confidence has returned and I am no longer anxious behind the wheel. Thanks Chris,
I recommend you highly”. Glenda Brown – Lincolnshire
What is a ‘Driving Day’?
It is a day, or half a day, that will be tailored to suit your individual requirements and needs, be it back to basics or very top end advanced driving. The very best people to provide this service are police class 1 drivers with operational experience who have also been a Police Advanced Driving Instructor with years of experience at a Police Driving School. The objective is to improve your driving skills, knowledge of driving and have answered all the questions you have ever thought of. A ‘Driving Day’ is aimed at any driver with a full driving licence seeking to improve their driving skills. Chris welcomes nervous drivers and those who have lost confidence in driving for whatever reason.
We have had a number of parents contact us worried about their son or daughter’s driving, particularly those who have recently passed their driving test. Chris is able to help in these situations too.
Chris on a one to one basis, in your car, will instruct, coach and encourage you to achieve your goals. You can choose a half day or full day. However, Chris is very flexible so on the day you can increase or decrease your driving time. Charges relate accordingly.
Chris generally uses the roads he used for 22 years teaching police officers advanced driving skills, so the roads are both enjoyable and challenging to drive. There are some excellent, instructional value driving roads in nearby Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.
If you would like to join your husband, wife, son, daughter, partner or friend in the car as an observer, you are welcome to do so at no extra charge.
Consider sharing a full driving day with a friend, relative or colleague. Many driving instructor clients do this. Passive learning is a most effective way to learn by watching and listening the other person, then rotating. Validating the learning is best achieved as an observer in the back seat after having driven. All UK police driving schools use passive learning with three students. However, three sharing a single day is one too many!
